    Leslie Speaker Cabinet ID

My friend has a standard sized Leslie with two 10-inch speakers--missing a few parts.  Any idea which model this is?

    G'day,

If by "standard size" you mean a 41" cabinet, then the only Leslie built that contained two 10" speakers was model 300.

A 300 would be a rarity. Blue Book doesn't even list it and the only info I can find is that it was made for Thomas organs. Ian's obviously got more data than me!

Just in case it's been modified, can you post a photo or two to confirm the ID. What you do think is missing?

The 300 had a 15-inch Jensen, so it isn't that.  It is missing the amp and one single-speed motor.  There are no louvers up top.  Standard walnut cabinet.

    G'day,

When I said model 300 had two 10" speakers, I wasn't suggesting that's all it had.  It does in fact have a 15" Bass, Two 10" (answering your question) & a non rotary treble driver.  And Andy's quite right it was a Thomas cabinet.

AND it's the only model in my list of 125 that has two 10" speakers, even all the early single speed jobs with 2 digit model numbers used 15" bass.

I think you may have to provide us with more detail.

    Kam-pai,

    Ian

    Re: Leslie Speaker Cabinet ID

Please post a photo.  The very rare 5-channel Gulbrasnen Leslie 201 also had 10" speakers, but 4 of them.  It also had a single speed tibia rotor.  I assume your cabinet also has a rotor?? (or else why would you say the motor is missing??) and NO bass speaker.  Either way this seems to be a proprietary Leslie cabinet which may (or may not??) be useless for your application without significant mods.  Are there no markings on the back panel?

    Re: Leslie Speaker Cabinet ID

    I have owned a Leslie 300--this isn't one.  The 300 has three 6X9 speakers up top.  This one doesn't.  No photo as of yet.  I have owned many an odd (and standard) Leslie--130, 125, 45, 145, 242, 47, 142, 122, 247, 205, 212S, 147, 21-H, 31-H, 925, 900, 300, 22H, 750, 710, 825, 860--and none of them come close to this.
