Attention AOL Email Users

It appears that AOL is once again blocking automated email sent from the Organ Forum as spam. If you are using AOL account for your Organ Forum email, you may not receive Organ Forum notifications including New Member, Password Requests, Inbox, and Thread Reply notifications.

If you have a another email account, you can change the email address used by the Organ Forum by editing your profile. Click on the Help linkat the top of any page for more information on how to edit your profile

We've been informed by our web hosting company that they will no longer
attempt to deliver email to AOL accounts. The key word here is
attempt, because as noted earlier in this thread, AOL has been blocking
all mail from our servers as Spam. This blocked mail is returned
thus causing a waste of bandwidth and storage space that impacts us and
drives the cost of providing this service up.



This means that if you have specified an AOL
email account as your private email address, you will not be able
to obtain a new or changed password, receive email notifications of
additions to threads, or notifications of messages being placed in your
private Forum In Box. All these features rely upon the ability to send automated email responses to you from our server.



Our web host claims to have attempted to work with AOL to resolve this
issue but AOL is not at all interested. I should note, that our
web host is not the only hosting company being effected by AOL's spam
policies.



If you wish to continue enjoying the features alluded to above, obtain
a free email account from Google, HotMail, Yahoo, or other provider and
change your private email address for the Organ Forum in your profile.



Spam is a great annoyance to everyone, but there are ways of dealing
with it that do impact legitmate email users. AOL has apparently
taken a stand that is convenient for them without regard to the needs
of the their customers.
