  • Is 39 organs a lot to have?

Hello, I am new here and might have a question or 2...
found out I could get a free organ, didn't want to see it go to waste...
didnt want to see the music get lost or thrown out (now have a stack 6 feet tall)... I now have 23 Hammonds and have some questions, especially on the AURORA model of which I have 6 and ALL after a while on the preset pistons the sound volume after a few minutes goes lower to almost can't hear, can someone point me to the right thread please?

Welcome to the Forum. I guess I'm almost where you are, but on the Classical side of the show. I only have about 15 organs so far.

I would recommend you visit the Hammond forum or Home Organ forum for more information. You can always search the Forum by going to the top of the page and searching your questions there.

Way too many organs to list, but I do have 5 Allens:
    • MOS-2 Model 505-B / ADC-4300-DK / ADC-5400 / ADC-6000 (Symphony) / ADC-8000DKC
    • Lowrey Heritage (DSO-1)
    • 11 Pump Organs, 1 Pipe Organ & 7 Pianos

      Not if you're a dealer :-)

Many of us here could get to that total if we had the space.

      Hammond M-102 #21000.
      Leslie 147 #F7453.
      Hammond S-6 #72421

Agreed. Marcus, welcome to the Forum. I own 23 at present and only storage space prevents me from hoarding more. I have given away quite a few and another one is on the way out. After agonizing for some time I have started the process of thinning them out - a difficult task at best. You may see some other comments on this dilemma on this Forum. However, you are not yet complaining about space so you either live in a converted warehouse or own one somewhere - what luck! :->

"Don't make war, make music!" Hammonds, Lowreys, Yamaha's, Gulbransens, Baldwin, Technics, Johannus. Reed organs. Details on request... B-)

Organ collectors are less uncommon than you might think, I suppose many of them are on here! :) But not many have quite as many duplicates.

I'd be thinking along the lines of making a couple of 100% working examples of each individual Classic or Collonade and keeping the insides of the rest for spares, perhaps letting the consoles go to people who need them for 'virtual organs'. That way, everything is used (apart from any parts that are dead).

As for any that you have just one of, if you have the space, they're working and you play them regularly, great!

You just know we're going to ask for some photos, don't you! :D So can we have some photos please.
It's not what you play. It's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

It's so nice to know that there are others out there with Organ Acquisition Syndrome - you are among friends here.

Andy beat me to the request for photos; that would be fun to see.
