  • Merry Christmas From Germany

    You think?

Merry Christmas from Germany, everybody! The chiff from the flutes was amazing. This is the smaller of the two organs in the Dom cathedral in Frankfurt.

This fellow just played a 30 minute Bach performance.

That is a small organ loft. You have to wonder how the chap gets in there around the organ? Perhaps he swings in on a vine that we can not see in the picture?:->

It was spectacular. The audience was sitting against that wall and the our wall, about 60 all told, and the natural reverberation was perfect. You were asking about the method of ascent. Well, he greeted us all dressed in red, very nice white hair and beard, then donned his organ shoes, checked his list of music twice, put his finger to the side of his nose, bid us Frohliche weinachten, and the shoes emitted a glow at the same time as he was transported high above us.

This is THE organ around the corner:

And all the best from 30 miles north of Frankfurt (and a tiny organ). O:-)
