Am I the only one that feels this forum has become boring?
Title says it almost all. There haven't been any discussions worthy of the name. Most of them turn into nomination polling or try to turn any subject into religion. Or sometimes completely irrelevant issues.
I can understand that not everything should be serious on-topic, I would be the first to deplore that. But has anything worth saying been said?

So that's why it's been so boring! Anyway I think O'grinder's been quite busy lately, as have many of us. I think half of my band has fallen of the face of the earth! They're all doing senior theses. Deviant art has been pretty quiet too. As for me, I've been in school way too long!

Re: Am I the only one that feels this forum has become boring?
I get so much out of this form, and I find it is an excellent source for research. I also enrich my ongoing hobby of the organ which I enjoy the study of as much as playing them. In short, I read what pertains to me, and then I have the option to reply back or inquire which I thoroughly enjoy. Sometimes certain threads I just have to pass by when I read and reread certain thoughts and discussions. So many of us first heard an organ in church, and God knows all kinds of "confusion" can exist right there.

Regarding anything worth being said, it is just up to each individual as to what he enjoys reading or not, then he or she has the option to ignore it. Discussions are great as they are a great learning tool. I have learned a few things on here which are not directly related to the organ, but came as a result of someone being associated with their interest in the organ such as myself.

If you're bored here, might I suggest the following:

In the right side bar of the main Forum page there is an Unanswered box which has the latest posts that no one has replied to. You can see all the posts on the Forum that have never been replied to by clicking on the Unanswered link itself. I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least afew questions in that 70 page list to which you could contribute an interesting thought or two. Who knows, you might get back more than you put in.

No, I'm not here for entertainment (altough that doesn't mean that replies can't be entertaining to read). Enlightment, yes if possible. I'm happy with tought provoking issues as well. But I find the forum lacking on those lately.
Well, unanswered they may be, but why? I took a look at those questions: 6 about hammonds or other electronic organs I do know nothing about, 1 never intendeed to be answered, 1 about an organ for sale (that is impossible for me to aquire and not intended to be answered), 1 about a very particular piece of hardware I never set my eyes on and 1 warning about some less trustable person. It doesn't really motivate me to explore that list...
Golly gee Havoc - I'm truly sorry to hear that you find this forum boring.. Methinks it's the best one around. There truly are very competent people on this forum. With all due respect, I'm almost positive that you possess within your ken much that can be added to an already great forum.

I like the mix of light hearted topics and serious technical questions, which gives this forum a lot of variety. I think there is something here for everyone (or nearly everyone).

Feel free to start more exciting threads if you so wish.

This forum tends to go through cycles. There will be weeks wherein it's all nothing but electronic discussion (which I know nothing about), then an interesting repertory thread will pop up. I think those of us primarily interested in pipe organs/church music have to realize that there are quite a few members who's interests lie elsewhere.

But at least people are still around. A church music forum (UK based) I'm a member of is very near extinction due to general lack of interest. We haven't had a good argument about psalm chant or church clergy for ages!

Indeed, my mainand preference interest lies with electronic Church organs (analogue & digital) but I find the "pipe stuff" interesting too.

I think this forum has a good mix of both electronic and traditional pipe organ topics. Some other forums I've been to either discussonly electronic organs or vice versa, and are full of pipe organ snobs who just talk about pipe organs all the time and are acid tonguedwhen electronic instruments are mentioned.

Here we seem to strike a nice even balance, which is refreshing.
