For those of our friends in the US who have suffered damages or worse during the recent tornado and storm damage be assured that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May God provide courage and hope amidst the ever present corona pestilence that has the entire world in a stranglehold.
God bless!

There was some severe devastation late on Easter Sunday in several Southern US locations. Here in our town there was no damage at all, for which we are grateful. Monday morning I spoke with a friend who lives in southeastern Arkansas, and he was without electricity since 8 p.m. Sunday. The utility was reporting over 120,000 customers without power in a broad swatch across southern Arkansas, and no projected time to restore it. A serious problem for those who heat their homes, cook, and refrigerate their food with electricity. Reports this morning are that most of them still do not have power, though the utility made an effort to get critical operations going first, such as hospitals, first responders, and security stations.
While situations like this are very uncomfortable and cause hardship, we are fortunate here that there are emergency generators in most critical facilities, and it is very rare for someone to actually die due to a power outage. Also, the weather is relatively mild right now, so people can survive without heat or cooling. Those in affected areas surely appreciate our prayers right now.

I live in Georgia. In my immediate locale, we thankfully had no damage. However, there was a lot of damage in some other areas of the state. The last that I heard, there were 8 fatalities in Georgia. What made the storms bad here is that they came during the night, from about 12:00-4:00 AM. In fact, one of the fatalities was a man who was killed when a tree fell on the house while he was sleeping. Two others in the house escaped with very minor injuries. Also, in one area a house was lifted off its foundation and placed across a road, essentially intact. The photo reminds me of the "Wizard of Oz." Here is a link to an article with a photo.
Thanks for the concern.
