    Re: Casinos?

I love the stratosphere in Las Vegas, mainly for their $5 craps tables. Put down $100 and walked away with close to $4,000 one night.

Whoops, I forgot to mention that my favorite place to gamble is Las Vegas, but I also like Reno quite well. Here are some venues I enjoy in the area:</p>

-Peppermill Best overall. Fabulous resort, excellent hotel, best selection/quality of suites, friendliest staff, coolest casino, best entertainment, excellent restaurants. I live five minutes away from this one, so I visit it several times a week. We eat there about three times a week too.

-Nugget Second favorite casino. Most fun casino floor. Most relaxing atmosphere. Best pool. Pretty good restaurants. Many fun attractions.

My background: My better half and I spend a great deal of time at casinos. I don't gamble much myself. When I do, I play slots, but it's hardly gambling since I've never actually lost money. I always leave with the same or more than I arrived with, but that's not very adventurous is it? She gambles a lot though, she's actually a whale. We have top VIP status at a few casinos in Las Vegas and Reno. They are the Venitian, the Bellagio, Tropicana in Vegas, and the Peppermill and Atlantis in Reno. My favorite casino is the Peppermill followed closely by the Venetian.

I've always been fascinated in casinos. Ever since I was young, I would get excited studying the rise and fall of various casinos, what makes a casino successful, what make some businesses stand the test of time. I've also been fascinated by the marketing aspect, how they draw you in, how they keep you in, how they gat you to spend more money and how they get you to keep coming back. Every minute detail in a casino is designed to make you more comfortable about spending money. Everything, the lights, the sound, the "promotions", the colors, and the layout. There's a great deal psychology at play in casinos. It's amazing how effectively they can communicate irrational thought patterns to otherwise rational people. It's marketing at it's best. Believe it or not, I one day hope to own a casino myself.
