• Name/identify this organ (puzzle)

I found this photograph on ebay, and the console looks quite unique, was wondering if someone here could identify it, just out of curiousity?

    Aloha NYCF,

Ok, I'll take a stab at it - but only the maker - pre-Phelps Casavant....

Excellent guess, K-phone; or perhaps an Estey?

Something about the key-cheeks reminds me of 1920's vintage Casavants, but I haven't found any photos that would confirm that.

On the other hand, the Estey suggestion may be closer to the mark.

I don't know what that "swiss-cheese" panel is at the upper right side of the console, perhaps some sort of stop setter?

Anyway... if you look at this Estey photo, you will see a very similar device located in approximately the same location:

[edit] Having studied this photo, I am beginning to believe that the panel is an indicator to show which piston has been pressed (I'm thinking it is a "blind" combination action). For each divisionthere is one more piston than there are indicator lights - presumably one of the pistons would be a cancel.

          Aloha MenschenStimme,

Tbh, it was probably the most uneducated guesstimation on this forum yet - Should have included some photographic evidence - Heavy Sigh.......

          Cheers,

I haven't a clue where or what organ it is..just thought that console was unique enough that there was a chance someone could identify it..or at least the builder......great responses!!!!!!!!!

At first glance I was going to say Hutchings but the angled terraces seem to suggest vintage Casavant.

Those "swiss cheese" panels are blind combination action indicators - pretty commonplace for many builders at the time. The older ones were mechanical, then light bulbs took over.
