• Allen T-15A Info needed.

    Greetings All,

I have an Allen T-15a that I recently aquired. If anyone has a copy of the owners manuals for this model I would be most appreciative, similarly if someone know where I may find said information, I would be equally as greatfull.

    Re: Allen T-15A Info needed.

Information on old analog Allens was providedin a combined booklet for all modelsthat is no longer available from the company according to what I've been hearing online. I let my copies of the book and a basic manual called the Analog Primer go to the dealer who took my S-15 in trade in 1997. I've seen the set trade on Ebay several times and always brings a pretty good closing price.

The instrument is fairly straight forward (equivalent to the S15 which had tubes, the T stands for transistorized) and has a beautiful romantic tone. It has multiple pitch flutes, several strings, a string diapason, a trumpet, and a clarinet which is actually a synthesis of a modified flute combination. They are laid out by family and fairly easy to identify. (If memory serves me right, though all tabs are white the engraving colors identify the families) There is sustain for special effects.

The accompaniment manual has some added percussion voices, I'm sure you are aware. There has been a Yahoo group started for older Allen organs. I am a member and haven't received too many posts from the group. There is also a general Allen group but the discussions focus largely on newer digital instruments.

If you wanted the paperwork just to complete your ownership that's great. If you have any specific questions perhaps some of us here can point you in the right direction. I still own a little later model, the Custom Carousel, which shares alot of similar features and I do have the service literature for it. So hopefully I (and many other knowledgeable folks here) can help while you watch for the booklets to be on sale.

Congradulations on finding a great old instrument. I hope it brings you many hours of musical enjoyment
