Hehehe..hahahaha...lol... you must be kidding...that's a good one.... oh wait, you're serious? ;-)

Perhaps there is a gray or black market for service manuals somewhere, I just haven't found a source yet, although you're likely to find one before I do for my ADC with an S-100 amp. Have you tried contacting Allen service department directly? I got some diagrams for the TC-3, but not the ADC. You are somewhere in between so cross your fingers, say pretty please, maybe you can beat the odds....

If you find anything on the S-100 (BTW, apparently there are two versions, one for the older and one for the newer organs, please let me know if you find anything! I promise not to build an Allen clone.

      Hi,

I don't think this company has "electronic" manuals on line, but they may have a printed version they can send you. I just got a complete manual for my Rodgers 800. Very fast service. I had my manual from the UK in just one week. Try www.wdgreenhill.com

My manual including shipping via regular air mail cost about $70. US funds. Well worth the price for what I got.

      Regards,

        Thanks for the referral.

I went to the website and got their email address and asked if they could supply an Allen 1203 service manual Their reply was:

"We are very sorry, but we cannot supply parts or manuals for any Allen instruments.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />Allen, USA, have a very strict policy of ONLY supplying their dealer(s) or Agents in each and every country world wide where they operate, with support, parts and manuals."

So it looks like I have to find a friendly Allen agent.

            Nullogik,

            You shouldn't be surprised.

Allen in the last few years, has quietly dropped the full support for all organs, to now just ones that are digital. That doesn't mean they threw everything out by any means. You see, with a little hand holding from the manual, you can sort most things out on the old analog organs. So they make available manuals for old analogs. There are probably still quite a number of them out there, although quite a few of them now would be in landfills or have been converted into virtual organs, or even re-used as pipe organ consoles- as Allen consoles were better built than a lot of pipe organ consoles I have come across.

With digital however, Allen still believes they have "technical secrets" even in MOS1 organs that the competition may find useful. I doubt that myself. They want to keep it all in the family. You see, the mother corp, the dealer and the service person grease each other's palms, that way they try to control all things "Allen". For a long time this worked, and worked really well. They all made a lot of money.

However, lately, the Allen halo has come down a long way. And they still believe in doing things the same old way. The difference is now, hardly anyone is making money in this business anymore. Allen, because their sales are way down, are hurting, a lot of dealers are barely hanging in there, and the service person, is still fixing them, but is finding that there is a lot more balking at the high prices of repairs.

I think Allen may eventually come into the 21st century, and do things the way they are done in most industrial endeavours. They will dole out more information, because everybody else does. This idea of "proprietary information" actually now works against companies. And now, with so much of a product being done in software, even schematics won't tell you much as to how things are done inside.

So, my guess is if they want to stay in business, cut costs of repairs, they will have to open up a certain amount to the end user.

AV is right here. I am still looking for a service manual for my ADC 4900, and when I contacted what I believe to be the same source in England (WD Greenhill) I received a very similar reply:

"We are very sorry, but we
cannot supply parts or manuals for any a

Allen instruments.

Allen, USA, have a very strict
policy of ONLY supplying their dealer(s) or Agents in each and every country
world wide where they operate, with support, parts and manuals.

We are not an Allen Dealer, so
              cannot help you at all.

You must contact your nearest
appointed Allen dealer, or if in doubt, contact Allen USA direct.

Sorry again for our inability
              to help you."

Frankly, this is making more enemies for Allen than friends. At least from my informal sampling. I don't see anyone benefitting except certain dealers or technicians, and that is even questionable long term (just watch their market share if you have access to it).
