  • Roland C-380 classical organ

Roland recently announced another classical organ, the C-380. I haven't heard any demos on youtube or anywhere else. I haven't seen a stoplist either.

    Bill,

This new model, is the same organ as the C-330, the only difference being that the console is a dark colour, it has a roll top, and has added some divisional pistons. I think the idea is to add to the appeal of the C-330, and sell it to chapels and small churches as well. It still comes only with 30 note BDO pedalboard.

If there is any positive news coming out in the organ world, it is that sales of the C-330 are wildly beyond expectations. I heard that in the first 8 months in North America, that they had sold over 200 of them, and were back-ordered at least 3 months.

I understand that Rodgers is having a dealer sales meeting next months, to unveil some new Rodgers models which have the same technology in them that is in the C-330/C-380.

Thanks for the info, Arie. I like the 380 console better than the 330. The demos I heard of the 330 weren't too bad. Of course, it was on youtube. And there's the question of the quality of the console.

I'm not sure how I managed to put this thread in the wrong topic. It really belongs in electronic organs.

There are more Midi Voices ....too

            Hi Arie and Everyone,

Looking at the specs, I noticed that the number of MIDI Voices has been increased from 74 to 104 also. I'm going to try to find out if these additional voices can be loaded into the C-330 .......... just like the MX200 could have its 74 voices supplemented with Hector's other 100+ ones.

Orgelmann/Phil and everyone. Indeed the additional voices, including "Tracker/Barker Noise" (!) is user downloadable to the C-330, as described in

              http://www.roland.com/products/en/_s...43539034&dsp=1

I find the Rodgers/Roland web sites awkward to navigate and sometimes not up to date, but there it is. I plan to hear the instrument soon, but have been impressed by the majority of audio samples I've heard and everything I've read, which includes nearly everything available in the 'net including the user manual.

                Art75,

Thanks for the info. I've looked over everything and I'm impressed by the additions, upgrades etc. Everything, IMHO, makes sense and my hat is off to whom ever is behind them. I'm sure some customer feedback was partially responsible.

When you have a chance to hear one, I suggest you also compare the audio resulting from its usual speakers to using headphones. I've never, ever been a fan of using headphones .... but in the case of the 330 /380 .... WOW. I prefer the headphones to the speakers, hands down.

                Many thanks again.

                Phil

Anyone heard about when the dealer meeting is? Has it already taken place?
