  • AOB organ parts needed

Just acquired an AOB organ (opus 91). I am looking for the Logic Cards. One is missing. I am told the other three MAY be damaged (they were installed in the wrong order when I got the organ).

I also may need amplifier cards (this organ has 27 channels). No way to really know until I get some of the other things corrected.

If any one has, or knows of a source of parts, OR if you have an out of service AOB organ, I would very much like to make a deal...

    Peace,

    ML

I have some amplifiers and 27v power supplies but that is about it. Since most of these organs used descrete components for the tone generators, it shouldn't be hard to figure out the problem. I have a card extender for the tone generator cards if you need one.

      Hi,

I have the electronic remnants of 2 AOB organs, both from the 80s. I probably have 80 amp modules, and the cards for about 18-20 ranks.
To repair one organ I used a power supply from one of these organs, as well as a Mixture composition logic board.
I am located in Toronto, Canada.
If you want to discuss further just send me a PM

What exactly became of AOB and when? I presided over one of their showpiece orgs in the 1980s -- a 3m that was LOTS of fun but always had problems. Was told by a rival that Savile had split in half and one half become AOB. Some wags called it the Almost Out of Business Co.

For that matter I'm curious about Saviles. An organ guy in my area has a number of them in storage -- used to (ca. 10 yrs ago) try to sell me on one, claiming they were made of standard electronic parts easily gettable. But he said that about Conn too. What would it be like to own and play an old Savile?
