  • Allen 40th Anniversary Drawknob models

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that Allen is offering drawknob models in the Chapel and Protege lines for their 40th anniversary in making digital organs. They are also offering special packages in the Quantum line as well.

    Radagast,

Maybe I am getting cynical here, but there is really nothing new here. It is just a ploy to help sell a few more organs. And Allen is in serious need of more buyers. Specially marked models, special pricing, etc. to me means that sales are not what they want them to be.

If Allen had come out with really new and better sounding technology, now that would perk up my ears.

My guess is that Allen is now selling way fewer organs than they did in 1971. I don't know how many organs would be sold this year as 40th anniversary models. My guess is not many.

Anyways, it is interesting that digital organs have now been with us for 40 years.

a "toast" to the King of Toasters. :)

I hope and wish Allen all the success and that they have a 50th, 75th, and 100th anniversary models (and more!)

      :)

        Arie,
You're not being cynical. I thought it was interesting that they are offering what is usually expensive features at "special pricing". I have no idea how "special" the pricing is, but if they were in a boom market, they would probably be celebrating their 40th with much less aggresive (for lack of a better term) marketing.

They did have some special drawknob models a few years ago in their lower lines. Maybe it was successful enough for them to try it again.

I would like to see them come out with better sounding technology. But it isn't going to happen in this economic climate. Especially with things like Hauptwerk out there.

The best thing Allen has done in a long time was to increase their audio channels. Mixing everything down like they did in the early Renaissance era was a step backwards.

Calling Allen the "King" might start a few arguments on this forum with fans of other brands. :)

Regardless, I will join you in the toast.
