  • Re: Identify Model of Allen Organ

    >On the Choir it had Erzähler 8', Erzähler Celeste 8', Erzähler Celeste 4' (1 stop played both celeste "ranks"), Festival Trumpet 8', Flutes at 8', 4' and 1 3/5, Principal 4' and 2'. There was no 8' Principal. There was a drawknob that turned certain stops into precussions like Harp, Celeste, Glockenspiel, etc.

The Erzahler stops you mention were common on large MDS models. However, none of the literature I have mentions a model with a Festival Trumpet. Maybe the organ you played was a custom model.

    Allen,

I play on a 3 manual MDS-51-S that has exactly everything you explained, except the cipher. Ours is about 10 years old and gets lots of use. Bill is right that you can find the model number inside the lid on a plate with a serial number - at least that's where it's supposed to be.
