    Allen ADC6300 MIDI Installation

I found a used MIDI board but need a little help hooking it up, if anybody here knows--please help!

    1. The diagrams I have show the data cable from the multiplexer to the cage coming off P230, but in my organ it's connected to P231. Do I just insert the MIDI board in this line from P231 (interrupting the current connection) through MIDI, or does it move to P230 when the MIDI card is installed?

    2. Does anyone have the REM Output Chart for the ADC6300 they could scan for me? These are the remote outputs from the multiplexer board to drive accessory items.

    Any assistance would be appreciated!

      Toodles,

AFAIK, you don't change anything about the connections at the multiplexer board when installing the MIDI translator. It simply goes in series between the multiplexer and the cage. I've installed that board into several ADC organs and don't recall ever making any such changes. Did you get the EPROM with your used board? As I recall, Allen sends out two EPROMs with the MIDI translator and you plug in the correct one depending on which model ADC organ you're working with.

I believe the 6300 would have the USCM-2 or -3 rather than the basic USCM, and the drawing you have might be referring to the regular USCM, which I think does take data out of P230. Looking at the service sheet, I see a big circle drawn around P231 on the USCM-2 drawing, so perhaps that indicates the normal connection on that board is P231 instead of P230.

PM me with your email address and I'll send you a pdf of the REM outputs. They are different for stoptab and drawknob versions of the 6300, so specify which one you need. I'll be watching for you message.
