  • Gem Studium II spare parts

I need to find 6 or more replacement parts for a Gem Studium II ,am currently in the UK. Used on the foot pedals and the stop selector switches they are 13mm square black plastic things with a soft round rubber contact cap/pad on top and 4 metal tabs on the underside. Any suggestions where I can buy these please ?

    Hi,

I have what you need, but I am in Canada. What you are looking for are pedalboard switches. They are not expensive. I don't know how old your instrument is, but you may also want to check the rubber actuator that collapses on those switches when a note is played. Quite often, if there is a pedalboard problem, it is the actuator that has gone bad rather than the switch.

If I were you, contact first the Ahlborn distributor in the UK. Their web-site is www.classicalorgansltd.co.uk I am assuming here that this business is still operational.

If you can't source the parts from them try this outfit, www.wdgreenhill.com

If you still can't get the parts let me know.

Hi and thanks for your information I have e mailed them and await their reply. The organ is around 20 years old its in a church way up in the mountains in Northern Luzon Philippines, as you might imagine not too many shops around selling spare parts......mind you from what I understand Gem went out of business many years ago and so spare parts are tricky to find. Have found some much smaller sized switches which I guess I could adapt with some fiddling around but getting the same shape and size would be much better I think. Regards David

        Hi David,

It is true that GeneralMusic (GEM) is no longer trading, but the organ division is now operating as an independent company, known as Ahlborn Organs s.r.l. . Parts for your type of organ are still available in North America at least.

Should you have problems sourcing the parts you need, let me know, as I have both the switches and actuators.
