  • Update on Rodgers C445

I understand that the organ sounds/functions of the Rodgers C445 are really not the best. However, I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of it's build quality. Was this an instrument that was built in Italy or Japan? I am guessing it was built in the early to mid 90's. If is this would be a good instrument to use as a midi controler for Hauptwerk etc. and the pedals and manuals are not going to fall apart, the seller has agreed to lower her price to 1500. I had offered 1200. No go.

I am new to organs, when I was shopping for my grand piano I was able to hire a tech to go inspect the instrument. Are there such individuals who would be willing to do that with an organ? I am afraid I would not have a clue what to look for with respect to future problems etc. Any help or advice you guys you could provide would be truly appreciated. I am so happy to find this forum! I have learned so much just in the two weeks I have been registered!

Someone will be along shortly with information about the organ. As this is a forum with members from around the world you might consider giving us a clue as to your location. Prices vary but 1500 US dollars seem a bit steep for 20 year old electronics. Of course, location and condition have to be considered. Pictures are always helpful too.

I have decided to pass on the organ, just too many variables that could go wrong (from my research). Also, it is about 300 miles one way from my home so it would be quite a drive.

As far as I know, those things weren't much more than $10 000 brand new. It was built in Italy I believe. Definitely too much money for that.
