  • Allen TC-1 Pedalboard

    Hello once again I have a Allen TC-1 Organ with a Princess Pedalboard and I was wondering if I can replace the Pedalboard with one from a TC-3 or TC-4.

    Thanks :->

    It ain't gonna be easy! Nothing is going to line up right, and your console may just be too narrow. Better make some measurements.

      Philip,

      Take some measurements and post em back. Look at the connector cable. I have a TC-1 AGO and would be happy to compare with you.

        Well I know connector cable is the same as what I am looking at on eBay
        I was thinking if I cut of this part on either side

        Then it would fit, that seems to be the only thing that would stop it from fitting.

        Thanks.

          If you want to see a video about these two pedalboards side by each, with dimensions, check out this one I made this past summer. Kinda klutzy narration, but I did it without a script.

          I think the AGO one will be deeper top to bottom by an inch or so, so your bench to pedal surface height might change. Also, the bottom of the expression pedal may hit the front top of the AGO board when it is closed.

          If you cut off those pieces on the front there, you will need to relocate the sliding feet further back. That may make the console more tippy,but maybe not too much.
          Regards, Larry

            it's on carpet so I doubt it will be very unstable at all, as for the expression pedal that might be a small problem but at worst I couldn't put it all back I'd expect.

              Or maybe put some blocks under the ends of the console to raise it off the floor a bit. Then you'll have to raise the bench too, but that might make it work. As mentioned, the AGO pedalboard will be thicker and will definitely bump into the expression pedal if you don't raise the console on blocks. Let us know what happens. I'm curious about this too.

              You might do a quick search and get the official AGO specs about just how far the keys are supposed to be above the pedals, how far behind the key fronts the pedals are to be set, and so on.
