  • Moving a 1960's Schulmerich Carillon

Hi there- I am about remove a Schulmerich Carillon from a church (they are getting a new one) and I am going to put it into storage. Can anyone give me any advice on what I need to do to carefully get the cabinets taken apart, wires labeled, etc?

ANY advice would be helpful- also would like to chat with anyone who has experience in this vintage of Schulmerich Carillons.

    Thank you!

If this has tone rods, then you must make sure you clamp them down before any move. If you don't, the suspensions will break and likely damage some of the strikers. There is usually a screw that if unscrewed all the way clamps the rods in place (if I remember right). I'm going by a Chime-A-Tron I have when I suggest this.
