  • analog Rodgers spring reverb question

Does anyone know what the reverb tank specs were on 1960s analog Rodgers reverb "add-ons"? I'm looking specifically for the input and output impedances. If I can find the specs, I'm hoping I'll be able to come up with a tank from Antique Electronics that will work in my C32.

I actually had a couple tanks lying around that I was able to plug into the output chassis and try - there are dedicated RCA ins and outs for both Main and Flute channels, which is nice. But the impedances must've been way off, because they both killed the output completely.

    Thanks!

You can't just add the tank. You need a driver amp and recovery amp. The Rodgers add-on was the "entertainment center" which included the reverb circuitry, line in/out jacks, and headphone jack.

Thanks Dave, I don't think I would've ever figured that one out without help. I was puzzled at first as to why there was no mention of the add-on options in the C-32 service manual, nor even in the owner's manual. But your post reminded me that there was a very brief note about a "Home Entertainment Package" in the Rodgers 22B manual -- surely the same option you're referring to. So I guess that makes sense, that they wouldn't push too hard on "home" add-ons, in organs that were really meant more for an institutional setting.

Anyway it worked out fine: I had a 2-channel Alesis Nanoverb lying around that I was able to hook right in. At first I was getting really bad clipping, but a couple judicious adjustments on the main preamp levels dialed it right in.

      Thanks again.

--Another question: how did this "Entertainment" option relate to the Rodgers "Practice Panel"? Was it the same thing, just under a different name?
