• The clatter of organ pedals

Hi, everybody!
The clatter of organ pedals disturbs my neighbours.
Is there a way to dampen it?
Thanks!

Re: The clatter of organ pedals

welcome aboard!

on pedalboards: I like to go in and put thick felt self adhesive pads wherever the pedals "clack".

The clacking on my Rodgers 530 was horrible..after I felted each pedal it is now very quiet.

I just buy the little Quarter size felt furniture pads....I got mine at Home Depot but I"m sure Walmart carries them as well...they sell them in all sorts of sizes...from dime size up to half dollar size.. .. the size to get will depend on how your pedalboard is constructed.

Thank you!

I have Viscount vivace organ, and there is some kind of rubber
preventing each pedal to clatter

but the main problem is pedalboard frame
it translates the vibrations onto the floor
and it disturbs neighbours living downstairs

Re: The clatter of organ pedals

maybe put some felt or rubber under the pedalboard? Or a rug under the whole organ?

As you appear to be near the U.K. you might find this link of use:

I'd recommend putting the floor under the entire organ, rather than just the pedalboard. That way you don't tilt the pedalboard beyond its normal operating range. [:)]

I'll try with some rubber floor under the entire organ, as you suggested.
I was thinking about that before I came here to ask,
but I wanted to hear somebody who might have some experience.

Thank you!
