    Rescue of ADC 222

    Hi,

Today I picked up an Allen ADC 222 that nearly found a new home in a landfill. The building it was in was being demolished. It's in excellent working order.

Here is the unfortunate part. It came with a bench, but not an Allen bench.

Does anyone know of any extra benches in a warehouse somewhere near Ontario? Or northeast USA? The organ is in the mid 1990s light golden oak.

    Thanks.

It is tragic that organ stewardship is sometimes such a low priority that the organ cannot even be granted the dignity of being discarded with its original bench. SIGH!

Yes, true, but on the other hand, the person I obtained it from happened to notice it sitting next to one of those huge garbage bins. He managed to save it at the very last minute. I won't be surprised if its original bench became victim of the wrecking ball. At least I will be able to find it a home where it will be appreciated. I'm still looking for a bench though...if I don't find one within two weeks I may end up building a new one to match.
