  • Interesting selling tactic.

    Hi,

    Just saw on E-Bay, a Rodgers 760 4-sale.

Seller says that it is an "early digital". Then says it is an analog instrument, which can be hooked up to MIDI.
Seller also says it is from 1989, and barely used in the past 15 years.

This has got to be the first time that I have seen an analog organ referenced as "early digital". I guess it is my morning chukle.

Is it officially analog or digital?? Makes me wonder if the seller knows what he's talking about....

It is an analog organ, but, as Rodgers described it, MICASKO--microprocessor controlled serially keyed analog organ. So it does have a microprocessor in it (a Z80, for those who know about such things). None of the sounds are produced digitally unless you hook up a MIDI sound module. It's among the last designs of the analog Rodgers era.

I don't know if he got the idea of "early digital" from Rodgers literature or if he invented the term!

I wonder if the seller knows there are people (like me) who would be MUCH more interested in a Rodgers analog than digital? I just liked those organs so much more!
