  • Allen annual dealer meeting

I remember reading about the annual meetings here. Was there one this year? Any interesting announcements or product news?

    Radagast,

Do you know who they invite to those meetings? Are "outsiders" allowed to go?

It's a closed meeting for dealers/sales people only. I had to get special permission for a family member to accompany me to one of the meetings.

So back to my original question. I thought the annual dealer meeting happens in the Spring. Does anyone have any info about it?

The annual meeting was usually in May back when I was a salesman, but that was a long time ago and I no longer have any formal connection to the sales department. I haven't heard anything through the service channels to indicate any changes in the technology or model lineup, but sometimes they don't get the info out to the service techs for a few weeks.

Would be nice to have a word from someone who was there or who is still active in the dealer network. Unfortunately, we don't even have a dealer within a hundred miles any more.

A friend of mine who works for an Allen dealership says there was no dealer meeting this year. But there are a few new models & some upgrades--as shown in the products on the Allen website.

I don't keep up well enough with the current offerings to even recognize when something changes. Do you know which of the models have been added or upgraded?

A quick look at the Allen website shows a few things I had not noticed before; I don't know if they are new or not. The Bravura feature set included "Voices Changeable Via CD ROM" and "Air Regulator" - pitch fluctuations emulating wind pressure changes as notes are played.
Larry is my name; Allen is an organ brand. Allen RMWTHEA.3 with RMI Electra-Piano; Allen 423-C+Gyro; Britson Opus OEM38; Steinway AR Duo-Art 7' grand piano, Mills Violano Virtuoso with MIDI; Hammond 9812H with roll player; Roland E-200; Mason&Hamlin AR Ampico grand piano, Allen ADC-5300-D with MIDI, Allen MADC-2110.

Looks to me like the Historique III has become IIIA.

Chancel C4F, CF10, CF17A, and CF32 look new to me.

                  Evolutionary changes, not revolutionary.

These features were available in the Renaissance organs when I stopped selling Allen Organs in December 2004.

Thanks for that clarification. So I guess there is nothing in the way of new technology or features, just some upgrades in the specs for certain models.

There was no Dealer Meeting this past Spring. The "rumor mill" has it there might be one in the Fall. The biggest change so far, barring the usual model # changes, is the addition of the GeniSys voices. They are optional on the Chancel models and standard on the Bravuras. These voices are now controlled via the Console Controller and can couple between the manuals and pedal.

"voices changeable via CDROM" has been on there since Renaissance was introduced in '97...And frankly, I would imagine can probably be done via USB now??
