  • Parallel port on back of Organ ?

    Hi folks,
    Hope you're all well.
While rummaging at the back of my Content 2800 I notice that there is what looks very much (if not exactly) like a parallel port.
There's no reference in the owner manual that I can see. Other than this there's the usual sound out sockets together with MIDI in, MIDI out and MIDI thru.
Can anyone throw any light on it.
    Grateful as ever.
    B.M.
Here's a previous post of mine together with a piccy.

If I were to guess, probably the port for a laptop to do voicing. Allen used COM ports for quite sometime.
    Allen MOS 1105 (1982)
Allen ADC 5000 (1985) w/ MDS Expander II (drawer unit)
    Henry Reinich Pipe 2m/29ranks (1908)

I should rephrase that...COM ports were used in Renaissance, and possibly Quantum.
