  • Johannus OPus 370 - pictures

I finally figured out how to attach a picture from my own computer. I will be reporting soon on my first two weeks with the instrument.

Nice-looking console! Glad you were able to post the pic. Please post some more to show the pedals and other details. I'm curious as to how the current models compare visually to the Johannus organs I helped install 10 to 15 years ago when we had a dealer here.

(BTW, I deleted the other thread where you posted the same pic so as not to confuse your followers!)

Thanks for the extra pics. I believe the external hardware on yours is very similar if not identical to that on the tab model Johannus organs I was involved with back 10 or 15 years ago. (Our local store that once sold Johannus was bought out and stopped carrying organs in favor of a large range of pianos.) The tabs, the fairly low and soft-touch pistons, the deluxe wooden expression pedals, these all look the same.

BTW... you should probably keep all your pics in the same thread for the convenience of your readers. It isn't obvious, but if you click on the Reply button, then click on the "Go Advanced" button right below the text window, you will get a screen similar to the one you see when starting a new thread, with controls for uploading photos and other attachments. But thanks for posting anyway!

John, my intent was to keep them all to the same thread - I must have had a "stray click" goof-up. I am sorry for that - I do try to play by the rules!

Yes, now I see they are in the same thread. My mistake! Do keep posting more pics.

I like the light oak wood.

There is a question that I would like to ask you, Tony. What was the first piece you played on the new organ?

If I recall correctly, Bill (that whole day is kind of a blur) it was Vierne's "Communion" from Triptyque. But I have spent the most time working on Thalben-Balls "Elegy".

That's a beautiful piece. I really like the English romantic literature. I also like Elgar's Nimrod from the Enigma Variations.

Up to my ears in that one at the moment, too! And just beginning to work on Barber's "Adagio for Strings".

Barber's Adagio for Strings is another of my favs, Tony. And, I don't know why this piece comes to mind, but have you ever played Virgil Fox's arrangement of "Simple Gifts?" Another charming piece.

I recently purchased a Johannus Opus 370 and have to wait until November for it to be delivered. I have a question concerning the MIDI IN, MIDI OUT and Sequencer connections. Is it possible to add the type of sequencer that advances the piston settings to the next piston setting. I've seen this option on some organs with a piston called "Next". Not sure if its possible to add that attachment to the 370. Thanks in advance for any help!
                          I love organ music!

It may not be too late to have the factory add the sequencer + and - pistons to the organ. You can also add toepistons for the same.
Contact your dealer asap to get that added.
