My Friend and I just acquired an Allen MOS-1 900-D organ with a rack of 6, 100 Watt (T-100?) amplifiers, no speakers sad to say. My question is regarding the output of the amps. There are 8 ohm, 100W resistors hanging on the outputs of each amp that look like they were wired in series with the speakers.
Why would this have been done? I thought maybe the T-100 amps were not able to match 8 ohm speakers, or maybe they had paralleled two 8 ohm speakers bringing the total impedance to 4 ohms which might have been too low for the T-100 amps.
Hopefully John, Toodles, or someone will have seen this before.
Thanks much,
John R
