  • external speakers for Rodgers 925

I recently purchased a used Rodgers 925 organ from a church. It came with the large speakers used by the Church, which are much too large to put in my living room. I need to purchase some smaller speakers that would have a good quality sound. The organ requires 5 external speakers plus a pedal speaker (or sub-woofer). I would like to mount the 5 speakers in the ceiling and if there is are good compatible ceiling speakers that would be my preference. I would appreciate any suggestions regarding possible types, models and brands of speakers that would work for me.

Ceiling mounted speaker systems are going to be a compromise solution because no tweeter is going to give good dispersion to all parts of the room. You will likely have better results with wall mounted speakers, since the tweeter would then be providing dispersion as it was intended.

You could consider these in-wall/in-ceiling speakers which are reasonably priced: https://www.parts-express.com/dayton...-pair--300-439 Note that these are sold in pairs, so you'll end up with an extra system unless you decide to double-up speakers on all channels, which is not necessarily a bad idea.

Of course the pedal speaker (actually a subwoofer) will need a separate treatment from the other channels.
