  • Rodgers Carnegie Hall Console Update

A couple of years ago this console came up on ebay. The guy who bought it lives in Asheboro NC. Here's an interesting newspaper article about it.

If I recall correctly, it sold for $11,500.

I recall sitting at the console and admiring it...of course, it was disconnected, backstage in a warm-up room...I was with the Old Dominion University wind ensemble at the time, preparing for a Carnegie Hall concert. One of my "I was _that_ close!" moments.

"Console" is right--evidently nothing else is left of the original instrument, including Virgil Fox's tonal design. So much for history.
