  • Can you turn off the wind emulation in Hauptwerk

Hello I am not sure in which area of the forum this should do, but as best I can see maybe this is a good place to start.

I am playing for a service on Dec 23rd and will be using my Hauptwerk set up. The congregation is on the small side and although the wind through the pipe sound in the Hauptwerk is cool, it could be a little much. Is there any way to disable this or at least turn it down/ I have searched the companies site and have used google, and results from google have told me it can be done, I have not been able to find any results which actually tell you how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance

Typically you can disable the effects (e.g. blower, stop noise etc) in each organ either on the specific Organ's GUI or in the Organ's options

Unsure of what you mean by "wind through the pipe" sound. As Momboc said, you have the ability to turn off some of the noises associated with pipe organs, such as the blower sounds. If the sound you're talking about is constant and audible with no notes played, then that can likely be turned off. If the sound is associated with the playing of individual notes, it's likely that this is inherent in the samples and is not adjustable.

How you would turn off the blower and mechanical action sounds depends on the version of Hauptwerk you are running. Unless you have the Advanced version, the way to do this would be to not load those sounds when installing the sample set. If you have the Advanced version, you can adjust the level of these sounds through the voicing controls.

If the sound you're objecting to is associated with note samples your alternative would be to find a different sample set.

In addition to what has already been stated, if you are referring to the wind modeling system then that is turned off in the general organ settings tab. You can also adjust the amount of effect the winding has on the pitch sag.
