• Info on an Allen 1203D organ

I am looking into a Allen 1203D organ. Is it a good organ? What does it sound like? Does any one have a stop list of one? It is being sold for $9,000 in full working and perfect condition! No scratches or chips. Nothing! I want this organ as I made a mistake as selling my Rodgers 330 and getting a Hammond CV toaster that is toast! I would like to know all the information about this organ.

Here is the link to the organ: (its the second one down)
http://www.usedorganswholesale.com/organ.htm

IMHO the asking price is at least 3 times the actual value for an Allen MOS series organ. I have an Allen 225 with midi I'll be selling soon.(Pickup only) The MOS is the first digital series for Allen dating back to the '70's. Sound is good, you need to add reverb, the reeds are a little electronic sounding, the flutes are nice, The 1200 series has multiple computers, you can get a nice celeste effect. Because of the age and complexity problems can occur and repairs can be expensive although Allen still supports that product. I would see if it has been upgraded withnewer DAC and TREM boards. The Amps are usually S100's on a separate rack. Are speakers included? Warrantyincluded? For that price you should be able to get a much newerADC or MDS seriesorgan if you shop around. Tip:never buy without actually seeing and playing the organ.

You can search the box at the top of organ forum for "Allen MOS" to read about these types of organ.

The consensus here would be that 9000 is a very high price for that instrument even if the dealer is giving a warranty.
