My friend has a Baldwin/Viscount that is having issues with tuning variations between the two manuals and the pedals. There seems to be slight variation in pitch on all three.
Can the divisions be tuned separately or is there just one master clock?
Thanks for any help as I know nothing about the Viscount designs.
My C400 can be tuned per division via a variable capacitor (if I recall correctly...) on each tone board. I have no idea if the C360 is the same however, although I think the C380 is the same.
I have since found a schematic for the Domus 1232 and the block diagram indicates three 'C.P.U. Slave' blocks as this model is a 2 manual and pedal. The blocks are labeled Man I, Man II, and Ped. Also the block labels indicate a C.P.U. slave & voice generators for each division. The label at the bottom of the CPU Slave schematic indicates that the drawing is 1 of 4 as well.
All of this led me to believe there might be a tuning coil for each division. I'll get a look inside the beast tomorrow and should know more then.
Actually laid hands on the instrument today. With the back off, right in front of my nose were three sets of cards, one for each division. There was a tuning slug for each of the groups and in a few minutes every thing was back in tune perfectly. Each card group appeared to consist of a cpu slave card and two tone generator cards.
