The other day I had a tech do some work on the organ. There were some issues with a few stops which he solved. In order to get to the back panel I pulled the pedalboard to get the console away from the wall. It worked perfectly up to that point. When I reconnected it there are now 8 notes that do not play E, F c, c #, g#, a, e(1), f(1). I pressed directly on the plunger switches with no result. Would 8 of these have failed just by removing the pedalboard? The 15 pin connectors and wiring all seem to be in good shape, no different that when I removed it. It was only removed for a few hours. Anyone have thoughts on what else to look for? Initially there were more dead notes, maybe 14, but these started working again. Now down to these last 8. Thanks for any suggestions.

The pedal reed switches are wired on an 8x4 matrix. Eight data lines and four common lines which are activated in turn during scanning by going low. It sounds like your data lines are good but you have lost the connection on one of the common lines. Check the connections on pins 9,10, 11 or 12 on the 15 pin connector.

I found a deep gash in the line. Can't be certain but it seems likely that a wire has been damaged. Are those CAT cables proprietary to Galanti or can one be found off the shelf somewhere? Seems like an in line repair to the existing cable would be challenging.

A few days ago I removed the pedalboard to access the back of the organ. When I reconnected it there are 8 notes that do not play (E, F c, c #, g#, a, e-1, f-1. Nothing special about the cable. It's not CAT. I've cut one open. No big deal.
Carefully open up the cable at the gash, find the broken wire and splice in a repair piece.
Then tape it up and you should be good to go.
BTW, pins 13, 14 and 15 are not used.

Yes, I realized that I put this in a general channel after posting. I did open up the cable and spliced. All fixed. FYI - Ron Sidhu of Galanti Organs in CA was very helpful, responding to emails, offering advice, parts, schematics and sent me a pdf of the owners manual. Galanti still flourishes in California.
