Anyone interested in a free solid wood console for building an electronic instrument might look into this 2-manual item.

How much would it take to make this viable for a MIDI organ? (Besides pedals of course)

      Jon,

I'm not sure I would consider the Schober console a good candidate for going the MIDI route. Besides getting a console shell, pedalboard, and bench really not much can be used. All the keyboard switches would need to go, keyboards would be garbage by now, stop rail useless, and retro-fitting the pedalboard is a hassle.

I would suggest that you be on the lookout for an old Allen console (old MOS 1 or 2 or even TC series), Rodgers organs from the 60s or 70s. These can now be gotten rather cheap.

Better yet, a late model analog Rodgers, as they already have some MIDI implementation on them.

Most other old stuff, is just not worth the effort of working on, as the quality of the mechanics of the console was questionable.

      Just my thoughts..............
