• Cavaillé Coll Johannus information.

Hello. I am looking at Johannus Makin organs. I saw they have a Cavaillé Coll type organ. There is a 4 and 3 manual version. Does anyone know how much one of these organs are?? Sound is good in my opinion. I want one because it looks more authentic than any allen organ.

    Hi,

The C-C style console does not mean a C-C style sound. I believe the Rembrandt 397 and 497 models are available in this style console. Also the Monarke can be had in this style. I believe I read somewhere that it increased the price of the console by about 50%.

That makes them rather expensive organs............but if you just gotta have one, just get one.

Yea. I really want one. I found out this is the only C-C johannus in the entire U.S.!!! I think the C-C is the 397 and 497. Just a different case because it is the same stop list.

        Hi Brandon,

Here's a snazzier C-C style console - the overall sound is quite satisfying if you're looking for 'French-ish" sounds:

            Hi Brandon,

Try emailing Mr. Adriaan van der Poel and ask him for a price quote. $100,000 dollars sounds like a ball-park figure for the instrument pictured.

            Cheers,

The most French SOUNDING digital organ I have heard was on a demo CD of Artisan's system.

haha, I was just about to post a new thread about those. They must be over $30-35k. Nothing I can afford, but you must be able to pay monthly. They sound and look great, I just don't like the lighted stops, I would get a custom with drawknobs.

I meant for the Johannus, But the Van Der Poel sounds amazing!!!! I have never heard an digital organ like that. Amazing. From those tube lowreys to these digital cavaille-colls in 60-70 years, just unbelievable, eh?

Those organs look beautiful. I am impressed with the Van de Poel organs. He is not that well-known here in the UK but I reckon they could beat Allen and Rodgers in the years to come.

I found out It will be over $100,000 for a C-C Johannus. I am looking into a USED 7 year old Johannus Van Eyck wich is a much smaller model and has 2 manuals and drawstops in a positive case. IT COST $70,000 NEW!!!!! I used to think johannus was cheep, but those prices are comparable to a new allen. The organ will be $25,000 used. Does anyone know if this is a good price?!

                        Brandon,

In Europe, the Van Eyck model, assuming it is Monarke technology rather than Rembrandt sells for around 30,000 Euro, equivalent to about $45,000 US. Not that many years ago I saw them advertising for sale in Europe for 20,000 Euro. Even assuming additional cost for shipping and importation, this baby shouldn't be more than $55,000 to $60,000 US.

For a 7 year old version, I would say $25,000 is on the high side. Beyond it's elegant cabinetry, it is a Johannus that is now several generations old. I would say $15,000 is closer to the mark.

These organs are designed to be European Positiv sounding instruments. They are not French, English or American sounding. For some these are an acquired taste.

Well For no posting on this thread for a while I would like to say that I am now purchasing this organ. It will cost me $17,000 plus set up. I could not resist with that price and sound. The guy gave me a 45 minute video of the organ and I fell in love with it. It sounds just as good as the C-C demo on Youtube. I hope I really do like the organ, as I am now~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This organ is a lot bigger than the Van Eyck that I am getting, but the sound is the same. He played the same song with a similar registration, and I could not tell the difference.

There is several videos of this c-c.

Here is the actual organ I am getting (well not the same organ but same model)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2L7FV1Vmj8
