Info on Hammond G 100 Series Wanted Please

    Hello, just joined this forum.

Looks to be a very interesting and informative site.

I have access to a complete Hammond G series. Model number G162, serial number 182.

It includes the amps and speakers. Not really certain of operational condition.

Is there any collector value? Is it desirable. Worth sticking money into?

I haven't been able to find much info other than it was made around mid 1960's.

I was told it may have Dynaco amps.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

    Than

It should have a Klann console and Dynaco amps; you'll find the amps (and nothing else!) have real value on ebay.

The pictures are very interesting. Thanks for posting them. One question: why is there a muffin tin in the bottom of the scanner/amp cabinet?

Thanks, not sure why muffin tin is in there.

Maybe to bake muffins from the Dynas heat. If nothing else the amps are really what I want if rest has no value.

      Update on condition:

Unit was in working condition last winter, though not sure how well.

      Speakers aren't worth anything?

Any idea what kind of speakers they would be or sizes as they are supoosed to be original.

The Hammond brochure didn't specify speaker sizes. Rumor has it that they were "guitar speakers" so don't expect much.

It would be interesting to hear it play.

          Thanks again Mark.

I did get the organ, it is complete and working.

Speakers turned out to be Baldwin QA's.

Not worth my time trying to sell unless I could get a couple thou. Guess I'll just be parting the thing out for the amps.

Question? If they are so rare, maybe 100-200 made why is there no collector value? (how many could be left?)

If anyone wants to offer on parts let me know.

          Thanks
