Hello all! Ive learned so much from you guys in the last two weeks getting a crash course on Johannus, Allen and Rodgers!
I've been singing and playing piano on the altar for 15 years and all the different groups have recently been moved up to the choir loft. There is a keyboard up there but now is the time to get more aquatinted with the organ which Is a Rodgers trillium 968. Yikes! I infrequently played the Allen that was there before 2006 but don't remember much.
Based on your generally positive remarks I went looking for a used Rodgers 2-manual and found one in CN. It's an i577 and I think it fits the bill very nicely (draw knobs as well and at least a subset of the 968 stops). Less than $10k with 1 year parts and labor and move.
The tech selling it is a former Johannus dealer so is not as familiar with Rodgers though he has picked up that recently as you know. He sent me pics of the included speakers (2xF5's In walnut ) with the d-pin connected to an s200 that's been described by Jbird previously. I'd love to have some big sounds come out of it since it is in an open floor plan basement with carpeting.
He is unable to find the menu for moving the swell stops from the internal to external speakers (as previously suggested) though he has found the “pan-out.” He also stated that it is either internal or external but not both(?!). He knows the stop assignment menu is there somewhere because the former owner moved them years ago but has forgotten how!
I am taking a chance that this can be addressed and he is delivering it in two days!
Please help us find the right menu for moving the stops from inside to outside and what is the technique for using both the inside and outside speakers simultaneously. Is that in a menu, too?
I know John from Arkansas has described the audio system before in great detail but I just need these two specific points addressed.
I hope I can be as thrilled as he is with his allegiant 677!
Thanks all!
Moved to the correct section of the forum. It's not a 'home organ' even if you have it at home! You'll get more responses here. Andy G - Moderator.
