  • Shipping weight estimate for Allen Protege

Does anyone know the approximate weight of an Allen C6 Protege?

    SS&C,

I know the information is here on the Forum-somewhere. I just couldn't manage to find it. I believe it is in a T-style console (newer than any of mine), if that helps. I'll keep looking.

Way too many organs to list, but I do have 5 Allens:
    • MOS-2 Model 505-B / ADC-4300-DK / ADC-5400 / ADC-6000 (Symphony) / ADC-8000DKC
    • Lowrey Heritage (DSO-1)
    • 11 Pump Organs, 1 Pipe Organ & 7 Pianos

It is actually an AKT console style. I am not sure of the weight though.

If you just need a rough estimate, 425 pounds should be a safe one. Might be a little more or a little less, but should be in the range. Have shipped organs before with that number- it's a good fit for the Euro digitals and smaller Allen consoles like the C6. I'll delete this if/once someone comes back with a more exact figure.

The Allen tech site lists the "uncrated console" weight of the C6 at 272 pounds. That sounds a little light to me, but that's what it says. The pedal board weighs 92 pounds, the bench 34. Thus the total uncrated weight is right at 400 pounds. By the time it's wrapped up securely, it would probably be 425, as michaelhoddy suggests.
