  • ALLEN MOS-2 diferent volume between Flute and Main channel?

Hello, if i set the volume Potis of Flute and Main channel to position 4, so the Flute channel sounds a bit quieter. Is that normal?
    Thanks.

    Praestant,

Yes, that could be normal, depending on how the organ is set up. Adjust by ear rather than by number, and you should be fine. I can't remember which model organ you have, but if the computers are doubled, turn one computer off while you adjust the other, then turn the computer back on to match volume.

Way too many organs to list, but I do have 5 Allens:
    • MOS-2 Model 505-B / ADC-4300-DK / ADC-5400 / ADC-6000 (Symphony) / ADC-8000DKC
    • Lowrey Heritage (DSO-1)
    • 11 Pump Organs, 1 Pipe Organ & 7 Pianos

Hello, Michael, i have a single computer MOS-2 Allen. And if i set both volume Potis from Flute and Main to position 4 , the Flute channel is slightly quieter than the Main channel. But of course, a Flute 8´ (Flute channel) is quieter, than a Principal 8´ (Main channel). Chris.

        Chris,

That is correct. There is no hard and fast rule requiring both amplifiers to be set on the same number. The blend is more important.

P.S. On my ADC organs with as many as 13 channels, amplifier volume pots can vary by as much as 2 units (i.e. 7.5-9.5).

Hallo, after repair of the MOS-2 board by the ALLEN factory , i can say that my allen MOS-2 has some very nice sound improvements compared my MOS-1. - The Bourdon 16´, and Lieblich Gedeckt 16´ in the MOS-2 sounds in the deep bass not so "electronic"( the cause of this is the E-Prom " Suboctave" on the MOS-2 board??) . The Mixtures sound a little softer, and the Bombarde 16´in pedal in the MOS-2 sounds "better" than the Posaune 16´in the MOS-1. The Mos- 2 is really also a very good organ. ---A question: which type photocell is suitable as a spare part for the MOS-2, if the photocell is defective ?- Chris
