    Re: Trumpet speakers??!!

    Hello from Ohio,
I am very familiar with the Wurlitzer Trumpet speakers and have a pair of them in their original cases in new condition. I was the Wurlitzer dealer in Warren and Ashtabula, Ohio for many years. Should you desire any additional information, please contact me.

    With best regards,

Thank you for the response, Hyacinth. As usual, your input is valuable as can be. Regarding an Echo division, I think I'll just keep calling it "the other end!" It always gets the idea across .

It is possibly an electronic recreation of a real Trompette à Chamade like seen here

That's really cool. I've never heard of something like this, but I suppose it could work. I imagine if you looked hard enough you'd find something like it.

Find out the model number and look around like on Google or something. Or if you've got the model post it hear... I'm sure with 1,200 plus/minus some members there's bound to be someone else with this arrangement.

If that doesn't work, contact Rodgers. They may have some records or something that could tell you where to find another one.

    Good luck,

    sbd

    Trumpet speakers??!!

My church has a 2-manual Rodgers organ from the 1980s. There are speaker sets in front and in back. Also, at the back of our sanctuary are two trumpet-looking bells. These are the speakers for a Swell stop, 'Trompette à Chamade'.

The stop works very well as a solo trumpet. Coming from the rear of the church (it's not that large), it makes a good contrast with the great 'organ' up front.

I'm just curious, has anyone else seen this arrangement? The Pastor (who remembers the sales spiel from 20 years ago) claims that only a trumpet-shaped horn in 'front' of a speaker can sound like a trumpet stop. Advancements of 20 yaers aside... are there any more of these?

Working...
