Brandon,
My friend is the local Dunne Music dealer. When talking to him about the price of a new 4 manual, 136 stop, he quoted me $248,000 with a full complement of speakers. BUT that was 3 years ago, so the price may or may not have inflated some.

I will talk to him today about this organ and its specs and his thoughts about it. I'll let you know what he thinks of it. I did play on a 4 manual of this era not long ago and I was quite impressed with the sound of it given its age. It had twenty something speaker channels and I think that is a requirement....but I'm not positive. Again, I'll talk to him.

As far as speakers go, though, my friend used to havve a big 10 channel Allen theatre organ in his house. His method of getting rid of all those speakers was pretty innovative. It won't be exactly the same as having 20-something speakers, but it worked and sounded really good. He ran all the channels from the organ thru a mixing board and ran 4 speakers from the master outputs of the mixing board. It worked out pretty nice, and Dunne may cut you a break on price without all 20 something of those speakers

Well it is not a new one, but an ADC organ. I would like to know more about these organs. I think it has midi, but I am not sure.

So many speakers, I hope I have room for them all. DO I need ever single 23 speakers? [/quote]

You do realise that they are located in Florida and the removal costs for this organ will be very expensive. It won't be no two man U-haul jobbie, because the console is very heavy and will require a lot of people (or lifting equipment) just to get it in the truck and then of course there are the speakers (x28).

Moreover, you'll also need console measurements to make it sure it fits through a door or window in your house!

1971 Allen Organ TC-3S (#42904) w/sequential capture system.
Speakers: x1 Model 100 Gyro, x1 Model 105 & x3 Model 108.
Shipping isnt actually as bad as you think. AND IT DOESNT NEED 28 SPEAKERS. I talked to him and it will be reduced to 8 and use smaller speakers. And we have a sliding door that will come off and it will fit through. And our living room can easaly hold 8 small speakers, might all fit next to the console too.
Is there a significant price reduction for going with just 8 speakers? If not, why not just get the 28 even if you don't use them all at the moment. You'll have the original compliment of speakers around if you wish to change your speaker config. If your going to get that huge console, you might as well get the speakers and the sound that it was intended to use.

I just got myself a 2 manual Rodgers which came with 14 speakers. I really didn't intend to use everything at home, but I'm sure glad I got all the speakers. I'm able to play around with using different speakers in my home to see what fits and sounds the best. Also playing the organ out of all it's channels instead of just through the antiphonal makes a huge difference in sound.

You can come up with creative ways to hide speakers, such as behind sofas. Or even putting subwoofers in a closet or in the basement directly under the console.

No price reduce. actually it will cost 2500 as I need new amps, and speakers. I would get 28 speakers, but they couldnt be plugged in all at the same time. I dont have a basement eather, and well, if I had them all, there would be speakers stacked 8 feet tall running the entire wall. Not very nice looking, and my parents dont want their room takin over. I may keep the main trebbles and subs, and with the smaller speakers thrown around the room for "surround sound"!!!!!!!!
