Hey all Crumar Mojo friends.
I recently bit the bullet and purchased the limited edition Mojo. Cool eh? That is until I played it right out of the box.
Organ sounds, awesome. No issue there. Feels better than my C2D, sounds better that it, too.
However, one of the biggest reasons i bought it, aside from the looks and good reputation, is the fact I can play EP on the lower manual. I still don't understand why it is only Rhodes or Wurli (no piano, clav, etc. available), no editing available via the editor, and you're stuck with the "synth bass" as the only option (it would be nice to add a function via Shift+PEDALTOLOWER to activate tone wheel bass), but I digress, it is a fantastic keyboard.
Two main issues, the reason for this post:
1) the velocity sensitivity is not consistent. I was practicing a bit yesterday and realized that when playing the Rhodes patch, certain black keys jumped out pretty aggressively, and it would take some pretty heavy strokes to replicate that on the white keys. Has anyone else experienced inconsistency from key to key? The samples (er.. modeling, whatever they use) for the EP isn't the greatest, my Nord has better samples for sure, and the highest triggered sound is pretty aggressive. Anyone want to back me up on that?
2) Speaking of the sound of the EP, the higher register is pretty abrasive. If I play a higher chord, its harsh. If I am rocking a solo, the higher registers aren't really pleasing. I know the first preset is AMP SIM, so are there other amp models built in that I don't know about?
Anyone who has experienced this with their mojo, especially as of recently, please let me know. It's pretty tough to swap this guy out, being that there were only 20 made, so it really isn't as easy as swapping for a different one. I bought it new, and Crumar confirmed that the latest software was installed. That's all the info I have at the moment.
I'm counting on my Organ Forum Fam for any feedback possible!
