I recently acquired a Vent II and a Lounsberry Tall&Fat for my XK3-c. Does anyone have an opinion as to which has the better overdrive?

The tall and fat is supposed to replicate the AO-28 pre-amp of the organ and the Vent 2 overdrive is supposed to replicate the overdrive of a 122 leslie. Ideally they should be used in tandem if you want to achieve a truer hammond/leslie sound. The XK3c attempted this with its tubes but didnt exactly hit the homerun that they were looking for. I'd be careful about putting too many tube simulators in play. You dont want to have the tubes on the xk3c, the tall and fat, and the vent overdrive all trying to deliver a level of distortion, it will become a mess. Turn off the tubes on the XK3c completely, then start with a low level on both the tall and fat and the vent; you'll yield a better result.57 Hammond B3; 69 Hammond L100P; 68 Leslie 122; Kurzweil Forte & PC3; Gemini desktop module & Burn Leslie sim; Voce V5+; Neo Vent; EV ELX112P; https://www.facebook.com/dyin.breed.10

I would say, trust your ears. I'm not familiar with the Tall&Fat device but reading through a description it seems to say it copies the distortion of a tube AO-28. Fact is, AO-28's don't really distort. It also states it reminds you of amp distortion. Yes, the Leslie amp distorts when played loud and that is what the Vent does. The most obvious character of an AO-28 would be the loudness curve where the highs reduce more than the lows at low volume settings.
Trust your ears!

Returning a Ventilator in mono is a waste of a great effect IMO.To really nail that tone the Tall Fat & Wide is stereo!
I decided against using an AO28 in this BCV when replacing the V preamp which won't 'mix' percussion 'pre' vibrato circuit.
Clean boost,Tall Fat & Wide,Ventilator,Boss RE20 Echo,Trek II TP2B percussion are all mixed line level.
Turns out the BCV matching transformer works at guitar pedal levels just fine with a 'clean boost'.
The Tall Fat & Wide does 'brighten up' as it opens which mimics the expression EQ curve more accurate than a Yamaha FC7 pedal.
XK expression pedal is proprietary so I don't know how that will work. The Tall Fat & Wide sounds great on this C2D though.
The overdrive 'dial' on this Nord C2D is much like the 'tube' attempt on the XK series. Not bad but doesn't really nail it like the Vent overdrive does.
