  • Good C/V settings for viscount legend?

    Hi,

I own a viscount legend solo. The only thing i do not like so very much is the factory setting for chorus/vibrato. I compared it to the gsi vb3 plugin (which sounds very good) and my hammond m3. Using the legend editor software i tweaked the settings. In my opinion its very close to the vb3 and m3 now. I'd be interested if other legend users share this opinion or have found other and maybe better settings.

    Greetings Christian

Experimented a bit more. My favorite now looks like this.

I believe that the C/V in a vibrato scanner was set at a fixed frequency of 7K, you set yours at 6.86. Have you tried 7K to see if it gets closer? The c/v in VB3-ii is the closest to a hammond's v/c that i have heard so far. Most, including the Legend, are too strong. My B3's is more subtle and has a purr that only VB3 is able to accurately replicate. My two cents.

Thanks for your answer. The 6.86 hz is the factory setting for the legend. From what i have found here, it seems to be ok:

"The pickup in the scanner rotates at 412 RPM which is the actual vibrato rate. It is 6.87 vibrato cycles per second and falls within the desirable vibrato range of six to seven cycles per second."

I already noticed that the vb3 scanner is a bit faster. But I don't think this makes such a big difference. The vb3 and legend are very close in sound with the settings i posted here.
