In possibly the oddest Freecycle acquisiton yet I've picked up an L122 :D

It does cut out occasionally and the bass pedal for F is stuck down. My first plan was to take the L100 service manual from AnalogHell and take the back off and go nuts with compressed air, switch cleaner and q-tips...

Bearing in mind that I'm UK based, what switch cleaner do I need? And what else should I be aware of? I'll have my brother to help and he's taken apart lots of valve stuff in the past and understands electrickery like I never will ;-)

Hi and congrats on your l122 i have just restored an l122 and im' uk based to so its good to hear from a fellow l122 owner.

OK first thing to do is to clean all the tube pins and sockets with servisol super 10 or deoxit if you can get it, then clean all the contacts in the molex type connectors (plastic) as these are prone to oxidization .Oh and be aware that if it starts to hum you need to replace the filter caps (big silver cans in the power amp) right away or you will end up with a dead transformer like me (The voice of experiance speaking lol )

Good luck with it the l122 is a fabulous instrument enjoy

I rebuilt mine from a bag of bits so if you need any info feel free to e-mail me
