Re: Newbie

Welcome!!! It's a lot of fun here!!! Now, is the 147A one of those new leslie speakers, or is it a vintage one? I am of course familiar to the standard 147, but not the 147A...

      Re: Newbie

Hi Leslie speaker and thanks, My 147A leslie is a Suzuki-Hammond product and not a Vintage Leslie, I know that there a suble nuances between the Vintage and new Leslies, but I am very happy with my set up.

So the 147A is a new guy? Those are still made with tubes right? I am curious, what kind of treble driver, and bass driver do you have in that? I have an old M3, with a solid state 900 leslie. Pretty loud rig!!

              Re: Newbie

Somewhere on the forum I posted pictures and descriptions of the differences of the internals of my 122A which has the same changes from originals as the 147A. I don't remember which thread. It was several months ago. There are lots of changes. Only the cabinet looks the same from the outside and it's all pressboard now and weighs more. The back panels are pressboard also. Not even plywood.

                    Robert,

I'm in Wildomar which is between Lake Elsinore and Murrieta along the I-15. It's hot out here now that summer has finally arrived. My name is actually Rich, I'm just thanking my friend Chuck for the M101 he gave me in my signature. I really should change that as the M101 was sold to Dwight Yokem'ssteel guitar player a month or so ago.

There is also an A100 in storage, an H195 in the garage along with a B200, Leslie 822 and 710. Plenty of projects to keep me busy. The RT3 is my #1 and has its place in the living room. Good thing the nieghbor is deaf!

                    Best,

The poor old guy is in his 80s and in failing health. He has been a great neighbor over the 18 years I have lived in this house. I help him out by taking his trash to the curb every Wednesday night and he ignores my loud Hammonds, guitars and drums. I check on him now and then to make sure he hasn't "fallen and can't get up".

I hate to think of what I'm going to get when he passes.

                            Re: Newbie

I keep the A100 and 147 at my Factory and crank it once everyone has left, the great thing about the XK3 is the headphone socket, means I can play or practice a new song when the family are home then switch straight to Leslie once I am alone, no Neighbor issues they don,t seem to mind same with the guitars.

                              Welcome Robert!

I can definitely relate as I'll play with
earphones at night but crank up the M3 & Leslie when everyone is
away. Unfortunately my prefered volume level in my basement studio is
just about the spot where my wife starts complaining that she can' t
hear the TV upstairs! Someday I'm going to soundproof the ceiling.
(Think I'll start a thread on the best way to do this!)

What kind of music to you play? I'm mostly Rock, which just does not feel right at muted volume levels!
