Well, Hey guys I am back again. After unsuccessfully trying to land a true Hammond and finding very few desirable types in my state, Texas!!! (Seems like they're all in Idaho and Calif!) I decided to just go for the Nord C1 as recommended by many here on the forum. Well, another wall hit here. Seems the C1 has been discontinued...and even tho the big dealers MF, Sweetwater, show them when googled, further investigations reveal they are "no longer available" or"discontinued model." So, I find there is a new C2....Hmmmm. looks like they added Pipes to the 3-way C1's arsenal of sounds.......and made some "enhancements" to the b3 part. So many times I have seen "Improvements" totally screw up a fine product...(think silverface Fender amps)....So, does anybody have any experience here? Has anyone A/B'd the C1 vs the C2. Has Nord lessened their wonderful B3 clone to enable it to also do the Pipe organ thing???? Or is it indeed still/now the best B3 clone since sliced bread? Any help would be greatly appreciated to this weary tone shopper. Thanks, Lee

All I can suggest is go to their site and read the propaganda, download the samples.

Funnily enough, on sites for foreign manufacturers, instead of "reviews and product features" they actually DO use the word propaganda. I guess they use it for its original meaning and haven't picked up the negative political twist we've given it for 70 years or so!

I haven't looked at the page yet, but it's here on clavia's site:

    http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?tm=Products&clpm=Nord_C2_Organ&cl ncm=Information

You ought to get excited if you read it, download the manual and listen to the samples.... that's what propaganda is for, after all!

I'll take a peek myself. While you're at it, seek out samples and existing online reviews of the other clones, as well as the other Nords.

    Cheers

The writeup sounds tasty. Check over a few tabs to the C1 page and listen to the sound samples there.

      If I could afford a C2, I'm sure I'd love one.

Well I'll buck the trend and recommend the XK-3c or XK-1. Compared to my two toneweel organs, in my opinion my little-and-light XK1 can hold it's own, sonically. However, regarding the illusive "feel factor" - i.e.
the keyboard, key contacts, drawbar location, etc) - my '48 CV still comes out on top.
