Hello,

I am a newbie and will be in a lot, but not usually, a lot to say.... However I do have two questions. ..

Found/rescued Aurora... all connects cleaned.., all case and internal issues fine.. However.. First Question: the G# will not play but DOES cut off other notes from playing, as normal, and you can hear a soft "grumble" in the output...All has been properly cleaned.. What else might I look for to repair?

And Second question.. The case back gives 700 and 710 (nine pin) Leslie cabinets as adjunct units. What other Leslie cabinets, if any, might be used..

My thanks, and I am many places as ellll, but most call me John... So glad to be here!

    Hi John!

I'm not a tech, but it may be one of the 12 IC's on the large board behind the manuals may have passed on. If someone can confirm that for you, I'm pulling a Hammond 8000 to bits which has the same parts. I can post 'em for nothing as long as the postage isn't too much.

If no one here can Help, I recommend Chris Clifton, a Welsh Tech who resides over on the Yahoo Hammond Zone forum.

Let me know however you get on!

    Cheers!

Actually, I just noticed it's the PEDAL not all G's that's not working. This means its not likely to be the chip.

Again, if we can isolate the part, I have it!

            Well,

I would like to tell the story of today....I began very early, with a slow survey of the pedals and the issue surrounding the missing note, and in so doing, I finally went under both manuals, and cleaned the hard to get to plugs and board connections.(WoW.. now I knew where the board for the pedals is...!!!! )..!!

No amount of care however, solved the problem with the pedal G#...

I went ahead and made up some jumpers, after re-checking the pedal clavier itself, which I had removed... and I found, going down with the jumper wires (three .., one for the note, one for the bus connection and one for ground..).. .G, F#, F, E... etc.... that each new note would be out .... ,when the other end was on pin 9.......; so... , it is the pin 9 on the module, and therefore is the transistor, cap, or a res., for that pitch, and must be replaced... ; (And I could NOT EVER, well test, a cap. or transistor)...

I may have to try to find the module and just switch.... Wouldn't that be effective?

            Thanks for reading!!!!!
