I have an M3 that sounded a little bit 'off'. I finally went through and tested every drawbar (individually) with every key (individually). I found that there is one dead (no sound) key for several of the drawbars. But it is a different key for each drawbar.

I know I once read something about how the drawbars / tones worked and I know there is an explanation for this problem.

*** What is wrong and how can I isolate the source(s) of problem and fix them ? ****

Re: isolated bad drawbar / key combinations: no sound
This post explains most of it, even though it's a bit "longhand":

The fix is easy as finding the missing frequency (you can usually do this just by looking at the generator) and resoldering it so it looks like the 70 or so others on top of the generator.
