Drilling a Hole in My A100 for the Leslie 1/2 Moon Switches Wires...Where??????
Just hooked up my 145 to my A100 and is sounds awesome...now I have to drill a hole in my beautiful A100 to pass the Leslie switch wires throughto the inside of the organ. Any advice on exactly WHERE this hole would go? Pictures of an actual A100 with the wires passing through such a hole would be WONDERFUL!

Thanks in advance.

Re: Drilling a Hole in My A100 for the Leslie 1/2 Moon Switches Wires...Where??????
We usually advise raising the manuals to pass the cable through. I am not familiar with the A100 series (having the speakers below) but on the B3/C3 there are four large "cylinder head" bolts going up from underneath the generator shelf.

Dave is correct do not drill it! Raise the manuals or remove the connectors and re-solder them on.

When raising the manuals you first have to take out the four screws than hold the drawbar assy base in place. Pull out all the drawbars just in case so you don't hook one on the preset panel and bend it. Then remove the four large bolts that hold the manuals in place. If it takes 20 minutes it took too long. Pretty easy and a good way to get to know your instrument.

You can snake a drag line or pull through the felt under the manuals if you take your time, have good lighting, and use care around the starter motor. I was able to do this with a C2.

Thanks folks...I didn't drill anything...just raised the manuals and there it was...a clear way to the back. I knew "drilling a hole" was a BAD idea...but that's what the directions said. I know now why a Hammond Organ weighs so much...the two manuals are VERY heavy!

Thanks Again! This place IS the place to come for all things Hammond! Owning four of them and learning about them all...will certainly see me return here with more questions!
